Leonardo Da Vinci: The Universal Man

Galleria dell'Accademia
Italy, Venice
August 29. 2013 - December 1, 2013

Days of exhibition

The exhibition is curated by Annalisa Perissa, director of prints and drawings at the Gallerie dell'Accademia. It has been 30 years since the Accademia’s entire collection of Leonardo da Vinci drawings has been on public view. These 25 drawings are shown alongside an additional 27 drawings on loan from Italian museums including the Royal Library of Turin, the Uffizi and the Galleria Nazionale in Parma. The exhibition also features major loans of the artist’s work from international collections: The Royal Collection at Windsor Castle, The British Museum in London, the Musée du Louvre and the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. The selection of drawings by Leonardo shown here represent a balanced survey of his broad artistic production and scientific research between 1478 and 1516.
