Treasures of the Pharaohs

Scuderie del Quirinale
Italy, Rome
24 october 2025 - 3 may 2026

Days of exhibition

Treasures of the Pharaohs is about to arrive at the Scuderie del Quirinale, an extraordinary exhibition that takes visitors into the heart of the ancient Egyptian civilization. A unique opportunity to admire 130 masterpieces from the most important museums in Egypt—works that tell a fascinating story, from the origins of the pharaonic era to the splendor of the New Kingdom and the Third Intermediate Period, all the way to the most recent and significant archaeological discoveries.

Through six thematic sections, the exhibition explores the complexity of Egyptian society: the divine authority of the pharaohs, daily life, religious beliefs, funerary practices, and new findings from recent excavations. On display are spectacular statues of Sennefer, Ramses VI, and Thutmose III, refined royal jewelry, intricately decorated everyday objects, and sacred symbol-rich sarcophagi, all showcasing the exceptional artistic sophistication and profound spirituality of ancient Egypt—one of the most fascinating civilizations in history.

The project stems from an important cultural diplomacy initiative between Italy and Egypt, which enabled the exceptional loan of works from prestigious institutions such as the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and the Luxor Museum, many of which will be exhibited in Italy for the first time.

The exhibition also benefits from the esteemed collaboration of the Museo Egizio in Turin, which contributes significant scholarly insights and an exceptional group of loaned works.

Curated by Dr. Tarek El Awady.
