The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains

MACRO Museo d'Arte Contemporanea
Italy, Rome
January 19, 2018 - June 30, 2018

Days of exhibition

After its debut at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the exhibition makes its first international stop in Rome. It was created by Storm Thorgerson and developed by Aubrey 'Po' Powell of Hipgnosis, in close collaboration with Nick Mason. The exhibition is an audiovisual journey that features some of the most iconic pop culture images to emerge out of the 50-year career of one of the most legendary rock bands ever to exist: from the cows to the prism of The Dark Side of the Moon, to the pink pig flying above Battersea Power Station all the way to the “Marching Hammers”. Their personal vision of the world was interpreted by visionary creatives: from the modern surrealist Storm Thorgerson, to the satirical illustrator Gerald Scarfe, to the pioneer of psychedelic lighting Peter Wynne-Wilson. The exhibition is accompanied by music and the voices of past and present band members. The highlight of the show is the Performance Zone, in which visitors enter an immersive audiovisual space that recreates the band's last concert.
