Dalí and Fashion

Palazzo Reale presents Dalí and Fashion, a major exhibition dedicated to Salvador Dalí’s influence on the world of fashion and the decisive role that fashion played in shaping his creative universe.

This international exhibition brings together over 200 works and documents—paintings, drawings, photographs, garments, films, jewelry, and objects—most of which come from the three largest collections of Dalí’s works in the world: the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí in Figueres, the Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg (Florida), and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.
These are complemented by the historical archives of the fashion houses Schiaparelli, Chanel, Dior, and Rabanne.

The exhibition was made possible through a collaboration with the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí, the leading scholarly institution dedicated to the preservation, study, and promotion of the artist’s work, founded by Dalí himself, under the scholarly direction of Montse Aguer, director of the Dalí Museums, curated by Laura Bartolomé, deputy director of Research and Projects, and Judith Clark, a fashion historian and professor at the University of the Arts London, with contributions from senior curators Lucia Moni and Bea Crespo, also of the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí.

The exhibition is sponsored by the City of Milan - Culture, organized and produced by Palazzo Reale, MondoMostre, and Civita Mostre e Musei, in collaboration with the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí, under the patronage of the Spanish Embassy in Italy and the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, and with Vogue Italia as media partner and StreetVox as Official OOH partner.
