Edward Hopper

Palazzo Blu
Italy, Pisa
14 october 2026 - 7 march 2027

Days of exhibition

Palazzo Blu presents Edward Hopper, a major exhibition featuring over 150 works dedicated to one of the most important American artists of the twentieth century, organised into five sections that trace the main stages of the artist’s life and career.
For almost sixty years, New York was Edward Hopper’s home – the place that, more than any other, fuelled his artistic exploration and became the subject of many of his most famous works. However, his vision was also shaped by the journeys, stays and landscapes that accompanied him throughout his life: from his discovery of Paris to the coasts of New England, and on to his long journeys across the United States.
Through paintings, watercolours, drawings, engravings and archival material, the exhibition traces the artist’s entire creative journey, highlighting the fundamental role that places played in shaping his imagination. Cities, landscapes, architecture and people thus become the stages of a journey that allows us to understand how Hopper developed that unique and unmistakable vision which continues to fascinate audiences to this day.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Fondazione Palazzo Blu, organised by the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York in collaboration with MondoMostre, with the support of the Fondazione Pisa.
