Days of exhibition

From the Greek roots of democratic Europe, through to the Constitution, and on to reflections on climate change, the exhibition “Rimini. Rinascimenti. Illustrating the world, drawing the future", curated by Ale Giorgini and Giovanni Carlo Federico Villa, director of Palazzo Madama, focuses primarily on Rimini and its hinterland, on the ancient past, present and future of this Adriatic city, which has always stood at the crossroads of history and culture.

On display at the Palazzi dell’Arte in Rimini from 30 October 2026 to 10 January 2027, this major art exhibition will bring together the very best of Italian illustration, including many contemporary masters from Rimini. The project, supported by the Emilia-Romagna Region, originated at Palazzo Madama, Fondazione Torino Musei, and is produced by MondoMostre for the Municipality of Rimini.

Conceived to demonstrate how the visual arts can guide communities through times of transformation, the exhibition unfolds its narrative across four themes and
73 works, bringing together three established collections with a major new project: SELINUNTE (Founding): The Greek and Mediterranean roots of Europe. EUROPA (Coexistence): The long journey of civil liberties and rights. CHANGE! (Changing): Democratic values put to the test by the climate crisis. RIMINI (Rebirth): The culmination of the journey. Fifteen new works commissioned specifically for the exhibition retrace the history and imagery of Rimini.
